Q] Why do I get disconnected all the time?   12/27/2001
A] If you are on our Unlimited plan, this plan has session limits. For example, the Unlimited has a 4 hour disconnection limit. After being disconnected you can reconnect straight away. Other reasons for being disconnected all the time could be fax machines, call waiting, or electric fences nearby. Also some settings on your computer and incorrect or trashed modem drivers can cause you to disconnect. The best thing to do is to disconnect all other devices from the line you use for the Internet - make sure the only thing using this line is the modem. If you find you are not being disconnected then the problem lies with something you have on the same line. If you are still having problems, pick up the phone when you are NOT on the Internet and listen for any clicks or abnormal noises. If you find you have noise on your line you may need to call Telstra to have it checked. If you do the above and are still having problems, you will need to take your computer to an experienced computer technician to be checked out for other problems.

Q] What is a Transient Delivery Failure?   2/10/2003
A] The email was not sent as the connection between us and the host has either timed out or been diconnected by the host. Your email will get placed into our retry queue for delivery. If after 5 days the email could not be sent you will receive another email stating why it could not be sent.

Q] What is a Permanent or Fatal delivery failure?   11/14/2002
A] When you send an email, our email server tries to send the email every 10 minutes for one hour. If after one hour it has not successfully been sent, it gets placed into a retry queue for up to 5 days. If after 5 days the email could not be sent, you will get a message back stating that the email could not be sent and why. Usually it means that the other email server (the host) is not responding or having problems, OR you may have the wrong domain name or email address in your sent email.

Q] What can I do to stop being disconnected?   1/29/2002
A] Try removing all other devices (phones, faxes, etc) on the same line as the modem. Check to make sure you don't have any electric fences running as they omit a clicking noise on the phone line. See what speed you are connecting at and try lowering your speed to see if it helps.

Q] What can cause disconnections?   12/27/2001
A] Many things can interfere with your modem causing disconnections. Fax machines, call waiting, electric fences can cause noise on the line and can make your connection to the Internet very slow or cause you to be disconnected. If you are having problems, try removing everything from the line except the modem itself and see how things go.

Q] Outlook Express V6 is blocking unsafe attachements.   6/14/2003
A] In Outlook Express, go to the "Tools" menu and click on "Options" then click on the "Security" tab, in there, take out the tick next to the "Do not allow attachements to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus". Click on the "Apply" button and then "OK" button.

A] Just send us an email and we will remove your site for you.

Q] I keep sending an email to a known email address but it keeps coming back.   2/10/2003
A] There are many reasons for this and the most common is the user doesn't exisit or the user has a full mailbox and can't receive anymore email. In the email you receive from postmaster@waterfront.net.au it will state why it could not be sent. Usually you will see an Error 550 - User Unknown or Error 550 - User exceeds mailbox quota
